The Group Training Association of NSW & ACT is holding the second Skills Conference on Thursday May 30th, 2013 from 9:30am to 5:00pm.

Join industry leaders, government and researchers at this one day event as we address key issues and we share ideas about the future of apprenticeships and traineeships in NSW & the ACT.

The conference theme is ‘Real Skills: Real Jobs’ and our focus is on high quality apprenticeships and traineeships, as well ‘hot button topics’ such as the impact of Skills reform.

The conference is supported by NSW State Training Services and will be opened by David Collins, General Manager, State Training Services, NSW Department of Education & Communities.

  • Bob Paton (CEO Manufacturing Skills Australia) on Apprentice Completions
  • John Ross (the Australian) in conversation with Mary Dickie and Rod McDonald (authors of the NSW Board of Vocational Education & Training's - A Fair Deal: Apprentices and their Employers in NSW, Integrated Research Report)
  • Brian Wexham (Chair of Worldskills and CEO Skills One) who will facilitate a panel of employers to get insight into their views on apprenticeships and traineeships

Registration $295.00 (+GST) per person for the full day (includes morning and afternoon tea and lunch)

Transport: The closest transport hubs are Central Station and Railway Square

Parking: Full day parking offer at discounted rate of $24 (usually $48). Carpark entry is via Little Regent Street. Bring the ticket to the registration desk to redeem rate.
